However the real key to their success will come from the improvement in mares, this is the key area that once left them way behind the pack. That is also radically changing now that Kentucky cannot get out of its own way re-alternative gaming issues. Ontario will gladly benefit even further from the exodus of mares from the once world mecca for thoroughbreds!

When I look at the ultra successful Ontario Racing/Breeding program currently a model for all other Jurisdictions I begin to ask the questions:

1) Have the opposition to alternative gaming ever bothered to examine how & why it is so successful in Ontario and over an extended period of time (going on two decades)?

2) Are the people in Ontario less religious than those in Kentucky? (No I don't think so... they just seem to care more about keeping their people in the horse industry gainfully employed which of course generates spin-offs for the rest of the population ...you know good for everyone concept!)

3)Is it that the powers to be in Kentucky are afraid to examine what is right under their nose for fear it will leave them with utterly baseless self serving arguments?

4) I guess they are hoping that their relentless drive to undermine what once was the signature industry in Kentucky will be offset by "Colonel Saunders" who will obviously absorb the 100,000 people or so now employed in the horse industry!

Whew!!!! I can't wait to see their plan on how much fried chicken they will have to sell to employ all those people...lets see chicken catchers, chicken pluckers, chicken cookers hmmmm chicken capitol of of of North America? no I can't see that, how about the tri-state area? how about the state? (look out for the new chicken cruelty advocates I hear their about to have a town hall meeting...I guess they will get what they want though.... the meeting will be dominated by republican senators representing the rooster population)

Good luck Kentucky with the kind of leadership you have you'll need it.

Now for your next trick let's see if you can convince the folks at Gardiner Farms to add Bold Executive, Where's the Ring,Philanthropist and Peaks and Valleys. Then move on the folks at Norse Ridge to add Rebellion, Paynes Bay and Best of the Bests.

Keep up the good work.
