Although I cannot see the Raise A Native/Mr. Prospector line losing its dominance, I have every confidence that Bernardini and Hard Spun will restore former glory to their sire line.

Both Bernardini and Hard Spun are from the Nearco stallion line. Between 1967 and 1979 the Nearco line stallions won 10 of 13 Kentucky Derbies. The Native Dancer/Raise A Native line won only two. Since 1979 Nearco line stallions have only produced 5 Derby winners where as the Raise A Native stallion line has produced 14.

Darley certainly has put together a nice band of stallions in its operations, here and overseas. Street Cry is turning out to be a great sire. Im glad to see Street Sense and Hard Spun's weanlings are doing well at sales. Hard Spun has so much heart and put in such gut wrenching performances even in defeat. I have a feeling he will end up being Danzig's best son at stud. How can you not love the Alydar on his mothers side?

I tell you, Darley has got to be the proudest home of sires in the world, I know their breeding will double in the year(s) coming up. They are the kings of the kings.
