Regal Warrior is actually a horse with an interesting pedigree. He is by Louis Quatorze, who hasn't been super-consistent in the U.S., such as Bushfire, Repent, Choctaw Nation, Second of June, and who has also done very well in South America.

Out of a mare by the well-bred Galliapat (by Buckpasser from the family of A.P. Indy), Regal Warrior is an A Nick. The dam was a tough mare, winning 10 races. The direct female line is light, but what is really interesting is that Louis Quatorze has the three-parts-sister and brother Bold Princess and Bold Lad 2 x 3, and Regal Warrior's granddam is by Exuberant, a son of What a Pleasure, a brother to Bold Princess, and three-parts-brother to Bold Lad. Regal Warrior is also linebred to Nashua and a sister.
