Had Normandy Invasion drawn the 1 hole, it would have changed nothing for me. Of course, that's as speculative as blaming Orb's 4th place finish and 9 LENGTH defeat on the rail, Rosario's ride or his pre-race smiles, sponges, or anything else the uninformed masses care to conjure up.

The 'excuses' post wasn't directed at you necessarily. It was a general statement to everyone here and next door that tabbed Orb as the second coming following his idyllic set-up in Kentucky. The comment also followed Matt's post that ended with a reference to racecars, which was ironic since it was I who pointed out that 'these' are not machines.

I will say this, the only reason Orb finished 4th was because NI was not in the race.

Haha, sorry Mary Zinke I certainly didn't mean to steal your picks! Although the way last weekend went I'll take that as a compliment. Had a spare hour today to look over the races and just calling them like I see them. Good luck everyone and a Happy Memorial Day Weekend. I'll be heading back to Indianapolis (my old hometown) for a different kind of race, but more for the party than for the sport...no trifecta wagering on racecars I don't believe.

Reason why haven't already said was wrong regarding Orb winning is just returned home from an eight day trip. No problem admitting this. Only point will make is don't think anyone would do cartwheels in drawing the rail. Thought he could overcome it,guess he didn't.

I not a great handicapper; however, I can tell why Orb lost in one word..."Rosario". Watch the video... he was all smiles and only concerned about taking good pictures immediately before the race. I believe animals, especially horses, pick up on this. His ride was fine but he didn't put his game face on and help the Orb to prepare for the race...he actually hurt Orb's ability to perform with his approach. The jockey's job starts in the paddock! Both Orb and Rosario will have their games faces on in two weeks and will cruise to an easy win....we should have had a triple crown winner here.

Hi, Footy. Thought I'd be first to post for the contest. Changed a couple because I had so many the same as Matt's. He was too fast. My American at BHP pick is a last minute entry decision by the owners, but why not? Hope he lays off of the speed just a little. Went against the probable chalk, although I was thinking of playing it safer day 1. Glad you decided to join the contest.P.S., All, I can see again.

I decided to participate in this contest and then looked at the entries. I haven't been following US horses that much and it shows as I don't know most of these horses. So this will be a nice crash and burn for me.
