The Jim Dandy was Moreno's 6th race in 114 days. An average of one race every 18 days. He covered 51.25F in those 6 races. Place Malice covered 40F in his four races over a period of 105 days. An average of one race every 26.25 days. Moreno's extensive campaign could have taken its toll going that far against high octane horses.

Moreno's sire and dam sire were both winners of the 10F Breeders Cup Classic. he appear to have inherited the speed from his sire and one can only hope that he has inherited some of A P Indy's stamina.

It has been 27 days since his last race and he has been working brilliantly. Place Malice may have his hands full this time around.

"He had not done much before that race, nor has he done much since"

The above quote is clearly incorrect. Golden Soul closed from 18L last to finish 4th in the LA Derby. He was only beaten 4 3/4L.

before the LA Derby he finished 2 3/4L 6th in the Risen Star. He was only 2 1/4 behind 3ed place finisher Palace Malice.

To specify the Golden Soul had not done much before the KD is grossly incorrect.

Moreno:

"didn’t break his maiden until his 10th start"

Real Quiet who just missed being the 12th TC winner broke his maiden in his 7th start. Horses have weakened at 9F and have returned to win at 10F handily

Moreno's sire and dam sire were both winners of the 10F Breeders Cup Classic. The Jim Dandy was his 6th race in 114 days. An average of one race every 18 days. His extensive campaign could have taken it toll going that far against high octane horses.
