The two turf races for 2yos in Canada were both won by maidens.

The Natalma was won by a filly who was 3rd in her first start, although to be fair, the whole complexion of the race changed when the favorite, Ready to Act, shied away from a right-handed stick and dumped Rajiv Maragh when leading.

Meanwhile, the open Summer S was won by a filly making her debut and she slammed those boys.

Then at Belmont, the leader backed up the pace in the 3yo G1 so that it became a Euro-style race with a sprint at the end, so guess what? The French filly won. Alerite, pronounced AH-lair-eet. You have to sort of swallow the 'r'.

Watch out for Suntracer, whose pedigree screams 12f. He's been within 2 lengths of the winners (Dandino, Ioya Bigtime, and Dark Cove), in his only distance tries in the Block barn. Nothing of their accomplishment in here.

Olympic Thunder was a miler in Brasil, lost when stretched to 10f. The uphill homestretch at KD requires true staying power.
