Saturday Oaklawn R6

2 Barrio Baby (4-1) exits stalking trip from too close to the zippy early pace on a severely closer Biased main track at CD 11/23. While his effort was not nearly as good as the runner-up in that race, he warrants play.

5 Bill of Rights (5/2) recorded a 'Neutral or Better Win' in his last following an upgraded run behind the w-w winner of a very Speed favoring race.

Phil and KY, I was on a live chat for most of the Oaklawn card. Only had chalk winners early on but had the 8 in r8. Will be checking the weather and the track condition for tomorrow's Oaklawn races. Preliminary feature picks:10,11,9, and of course favorite(in the couple)1a. Gotta think that 3Texas Bling can only improve. What a bad string of races he's had since the Oaklawn stakes last year.

At SA, Only worry is that Blueskies would battle early with the other speed, but otherwise I like him to win the San Pasqual. These four: Blueskies Sermon,Drill, Majestic City.

6 Rousing Sermon (5/2) and 7 Drill (6-1) have each seen less than favorable Flows in recent starts, including strong races in the Big Bear behind a w-w winner. Either needs only a slight shift in circumstances to turn the tables. They'll be boxed in the exacta, as well as being the last leg of a 2x3x2 P3 in R6.

I'm looking forward to another profitable meeting on these pages at Oaklawn this year. 2013 gave provided readers with Bashaar, twice ($49.60, $9.20), and Energy's Pride ($24.40) as the two of the loudest winners. The latter completed the posted $58.80 Daily Double with Super99.

On to 2014....

OP R6 6 Soul Winner's Fire (2-1) dropped to face sim. last out with a solid closing run behind the near w-w winner of a Speed favoring race - a big improvement on dirt. The lack of activity since remains a negative.

OP R9 3 Sheltowne's Boy won his debut drawing away following a very wide turn run. The turf debut in Nov was better than looks consider Speed favoring Flow.
