Maybe it's because I am coming off a high from the Royal Ascot meeting - competitive, high-class fields in the Pattern races, huge, competitive fields in the handicaps - I couldn't see much in these two races worth my time. No, I am not a "real horseplayer", I am a $2-bettor who likes to have a rooting interest.

What a couple of boring races. Another 7f race, another 1 1/16 race, summer weekend at major tracks offering mediocre stakes racing. Putting all their eggs in one basket on 'big racing days' means that the product the rest of the time is at a modest level, to say the least.
