I'm aware of the the pink theme of the day. It made it difficult for somebody who knows the usual colors of the numbers to follow a specific horse or figure out which was which when they were all disguised as the 8 horse. It would have been one thing to put a pink ribbon on the cloths, but having them all the same color was, frankly, obnoxious.

Those pink saddle towels were going along with the overall theme of Breast Cancer Awareness and I can guarantee that they didn't affect the outcome of the races...and therefore wouldn't bother anyone "actually trying to watch a race."

I hated the pink saddle clothes. Those were a poor idea for anybody trying to actually watch a race, horsemen and horseplayers alike.
