On the other hand there were some surprises which were not as nice. There are ugly food trucks parked outside the charming Carousel. In the past patrons looked out to see the professional banners and signs of the Carolina Bar-B-Que complete with a corral of tables and umbrellas. Now it is a mishmosh of ugly and soon to be smelly as soon as that pig smoker gets fired up. I don't need this type of "enhanced guest experience." Out near the Big Red Spring, a major and unique attraction of the Old Spa we now have a Big Yellow Poutine Truck with a trailer where picnickers formerly occupied space. The truck comes with a noisy generator because of the poor planning by the enhancers not to provide power from the television stand just fifty feet away. Finally, since when are pop up tents allowed at the north side of the paddock rail. Today, there were three, ten by ten ez-ups almost snug up against the rail, claiming that real estate which we all formerly shared as their own. I'm not feeling the ticklish glee of that enhancement either. It's bad enough that there is a smelly diesel generator at the other end of the paddock providing refrigerated air for special event crowd, taking up space Joe average used to be able to enjoy. And what's up with the sales stalls n the second floor of the grandstand. Is that the best way to handle a boutique market, stick it in Palookaville. I don't know. Does anybody care about the old fashioned charm of our little track anymore?

However, why do they have to "nickel and dime you to death"? Every few hundred yards, you have to pay another "fee".
