A decision was made to spread the activities out over a long stretch of time this summer. That might have caused some people to view the celebration in smaller increments than if it was condensed into a week or a weekend.

The Floral Fete Promenade and Ice cream Social have been the highlights so far of an extraordinary season. But there have been at least another half dozen or so remarkable and indelible memories created.

I made my 1st trip to Saratoga last weekend for the Whitney. It exceeded my expectations! Saratoga is the way horse racing should be done across the country. From the barn tours to the horses walking through the crowds to the beautiful tree lined paddock area. This is how you convert the general public to become horse racing fans. What other sporting event charges only $3 admission and allows coolers with alcohol and an up close and personal look at the athletes? Saratoga truly lives up to her nickname as the "Grand Dame" of racing! I want to trade places with you as you get to spend the entire meet there! Wish I could have met you but I will definitely be back!

I look forward to reading them everyday. I feel like i am actually getting the real feel of the Spa. Is it my imagination or has the 150th anniversary been a little disappointing?
