Can't wait to get up there next week and hopefully we will have gorgeous weather. Love Saratoga, there is nothing like it and everyone should try to go once in their lifetime. Used to be just for the weekend but it has grown to a week, of course I would love to be there for the whole meet but will have to be satisfied for now.

The colts in the Sanford ran just a bit faster than the fillies in the Schuylerville, and the track seemed to be playing lighting fast today vs the rain and mud yesterday? hmmm.

Right, I bet chalkman was finally happy, the favorite hit, finally after 9 races, wonder if that 5.00 win got him back even???? LOL

Man, I bet that chalk eater is breathing out chalk right now.

NO chalk at the Spa so far today, LOL.

Looks like a really nice day so far! Sunny and racing is good (how bout that near track record by 25,000 claimers in the third? 1:08.07 record 1:08.00.

I was cringing when I saw the rain start up and the umbrella's come out. Still didn't look anything like last year when I swore I saw the animals two by two.

This blog really is more about the happenings, less about the gambling, to me anyway. (and I'm a gambler, just not a chalker).

I enjoy hearing from Vic about all the sights, sounds and scenes with a little of his and the patrons betting adventures thrown in, very entertaining. (but not the play by play of chalk betting by certain folks).

The other chalk was scratched so the big chalk was the bet?

Now WHY does that not surprise me.

Sad on that ridgling of Del's, and on the Turf too. Del Mar is really having a bad go of it as well.

I waited all day for Hot Dixie Chick and could not believe I got nearly 9 to 5 on her. I thought even money at best at post time but ended up with 5.30. I pounded and ate every bit of that chalk ! Saratoga is off to a great start !

I had an o-fer on opening day at the Spa yesterday. Yet I consider myself a big winner after reading the best daily double reporting by The Clancys at The Saratoga Special and Vic Zast's Saratoga Diary Blog. The only thing better than reading Vic's delightful reflections on the Spa scene is visiting him in the clubhouse stands. Handicapping Vic is easy-good writer, great human being. Keep up the blog this summer, Vic, you have a lot of aficionados!
