Nice jobe by Mr. Zast as usual. How would Rachel have faired against that Canadian Jewel? I don't think Rachel has 1& 1/4 mile in her and the owners will shy away from that distance. Hopefully, she'll show up at the Travers for the Classic Mile and a Quarter. I want her to prove me wrong. Careless Jewel looks like a force to be reckoned with.

Careless Jewel is my Favourite 3 Y O filly which will not please "Rachel" fans but there you go. "Jewel" was superb!

Robert Landry was interviewed on Attheraces by Canadian Steve Miller this evening. He sounds lovely and to be a real gent! Steve Miller is a great asset to the ATR team! He and David Duggan (Irish) were terrific today and it was a most interesting, informative and enlightening programme about racing which included lots of live action!

I have loved the Saratoga meet and particularly al the many successes for Seattle Slew's dynasty! Careless Jewel and Girolamo providing the highlights!

So thrilled that A P Indy's son Marchfield won the Sky Classic at Woodbine today too!

Nice day at the spa. I always enjoy your blogs Vic. Notice in the Alabama that the first two finishers were synthetic track experts. My guess is the the very wet main track was a little off for the regular dirt runners.

Alabama,Fanfreluche went on to be kidnapped as a Broodmare.Being by

Northern Dancer and in foal to Secretariat,it was quite a story at the time.Looking forward to seeing what Careless Jewel can do for the rest of the season.

"CJ" is a silver gem like her dad Tapit..I was trackside at DP last month and witnessed this super filly pound her top class competition into the ground, her determination in the stretch was eye popping especially at 14-1. So yesterday she did what I thought she would, win big time once again...she sealed my pick 3 and pick 4 bets too. I love this young gal like her dad, and if she stays healthy the big matchup this fall may not be with RA and Zen, but CJ and RA and who knows maybe the a trio with that westcoast girl if she ever leaves her synthetic track security blanket, CJ did and look where she is now, and hats off to Landry..they are a super match, just like Rose and Afleet Alex were....don

Well written. Saw the 6-horse finish - was very cool. Grassy's race was good too. Loved the Canadian fillies exacta, (didn't bet it). Couple of nice Maiden races. Great day of horse racing. I expected torrential rains to wipe out the entire day.

Being a Canadian I am delighted that Careless Jewel won and Milwaukee came 2nd. And I am glad that owners and trainers are making more trips to the US to showcase their horses.
