Isn't it interesting that trainers say their horses "could not possibly run without Lasix" while a half brother or sister (or even closer, for that matter) routinely runs without and (wait for it..........) manages to win quite nicely? All that said, I ABSOLUTELY agree........"RUN 'EM CLEAN OR KEEP 'EM IN THE BARN"!!

WELL SAID, Lmaris, well said.

Cheers and safe trips.

One single study (paid for by whom?) has shown ANY prophylactic evidence while all show it is a performance enhancer.

It should go on the list of banned race-day meds as it is in the rest of the world.

Run 'em clean or keep 'em in the barn.

I strongly suspect the use of the drug, while at first a legal convenience, has become a necessity by breeding bleeders to bleeders and exacerbating the problem. The rest of the world has managed to breed some pretty terrific horses who have run without Lasix; surely U.S. breeders can do the same?? If not, then shame on us.

Cheers and safe trips.
