There would be an opportunity to showcase these horses in facilities as is done at the Kentucky Horse Park. A racehorse does not need to be a tremendous winner for the public to appreciate their beauty and character.

As to exchange wagering, it seems like a wonderful scheme to cause the public to lose even more confidence in racing. It will be open to the valid charge that jockeys or trainers are betting on their horses to lose races. It will cannibalize pools for straightforward betting. Thank you for presenting a sounding board on this issue for the lowly fans such as myself.

We all need to do whatever we can to make sure that these noble creatures can be safe and happy to the end of their natural lives. I believe funding should come from every stakeholder in the industry, including fans. How about making sure donation boxes are displayed at every track, every day (yes, on simulcast-only days too) where anyone can drop in some moolah for these wonderful animals. They entertain and delight us every time we look at them. We owe them everything when their racing lives are over.
