This is all just speculation into the 1st turn,but IMO getting checked before the first turn for colts that dont do their running from far back makes it a lot harder to win.

I'll be very happy if either Bodemeister or Gemologist wins the Derby. If I had to choose between the two I'd pick Gemologist, because I love his sire Tiznow, and WinStar Farm.

Interesting article, the amazing achievement of Seattle Slew simple grows larger in stature every year. With that said, grandsons of Seattle Slew - Pulpit and Malibu Moon also have the same opportunity to sire the Derby/Oaks double this year as the above mentioned stallions.

Should Alpha win the Derby, I agree, that would be rather ironic.
