Like a second horse of the year award, but for horses all over the world. That way the Goldikovas, Frankles, and Black Caviars could get an award too and not be clouded into the horse of the year picture. So like a horse of the world award? Sorry I haven't had enough coffee yet

Why the secrecy when it comes to who casts votes? Why are horses who win the 3 year old classic races almost always ignored at the Eclipse Awards? I see where FRANKEL received a vote for Horse of the Year. Frankel? When did he race in the US? I must have missed it. Last I heard, his trainer was refusing to ever send him here to race. Yet, he gets a HOY vote. Right. Like I said, these awards need a makeover, starting with just who is eligible to vote in the first place. Frankel. Get real.

Open the secret door so the public and potential fans can peek in and see if they are interested in seeing more of the sport. We need to recruit fans, television exposure is the best way to get the job done.
