The game of racing has been good to Bob Baffert and Bob Baffert has been good for the game. I hope to see him during Derby week for many years to come. On that note I'm truly amazed that Randy Romero was passed over again. It would be nice to this outstanding rider, as well as outstanding hunam being get the recognition he justly deserves. I know he will get in someday hopefully while he is still around to enjoy it.

Great tribute to one of the outstanding stars of this sport. Like him or not, he has given racing some badly needed personality and a long line of exciting superstar horses

Bob Baffert to the Racing Hall of Fame is so deserved. What a great trainer and television personality!

I was just at Keeneland this past weekend, April 18th watching the horses working out in the A.M. and I found out from the friendly lady at the rail that they do the clocking upstairs at Keeneland. Please if you have never been to Keeneland, please go. What a great place to see a horse race and to see others!! You can walk around the barns in the A.M. I got a chance to speak to Michael Matz and Jerry Bailey. I am so glad to see Baffert go into the Hall of Fame!!

Bob Baffert reenergized horser racing at a time when it was badly needed. He is, simply, a winner. I don't like Pioneerof the Nile, but I'll give him all the respect in the world because of the man who trains him. Next to "the Coach", he is the best in my lifetime.

I was standing on the apron at Rillito Park in Tucson in early 1971 (or 1972) when they started racing there again after a long hiatus. The horses were coming on the track for a quarterhorse race and a skinny teenager standing next me commented that the horses looked like they had just came in from the range. He told me his dad had some horses running there and that they would do OK. Also, he told me that he wanted to be a jockey and had ridden in some match races but that he was getting too big to ride. He told me to watch out for the Baffert horses (most of them were named Baffert-this or Baffert-that). He never told me his name but he was a likeable kid and he was right: the Baffert horses did do OK.

So did the Baffert kid.
