While on the subject of technology, how can the industry expect to be taken seriously when (except for the big days on network TV) I cannot watch a race in HD at my local simulcast facility or on TVG/HRTV?

It was reported that CD does have the capability to accommodate a 400 betting interest KDFP. However, the Off Track betting parlors do not have the capabilities to take wages on such a large betting pool.

I don't understand why Churchill can't use the same technology that enables them to offer the thousand-plus combinations that make up an everyday trifecta pool to offer a 400-horse futures wager.

I'm so sick of this BS from CD year after year. They keep blaming the cost of upgrading but offer no data to support that increasing the offerings beyond the pitiful 24 wouldn't ultimately produce more revenue. Someone needs to answer these questions: What is the expected cost to increase the offerings to a specific significant number, say 100 or 200? What is the projected annual revenue from such an increase? How long is the projected time period to recover the investment needed to improve the technology? Could the improved technology be used to generate revenue in other ways?

I was frustrated last year when I drove 45 miles to Sports Creek, MI. I wanted to bet the future pool and when I got there, I found out they didn't offer it. I was pisseed! I'm gonna "call first" this year!
