I'm not a fan of Baffert, but dang... There's very seldom any moderation on here. Either someone is a blessed saint or a boil on the backside of humanity. Man, why do we have to be so damn vehement in our opinions of people we have never met and know very little about?

I enjoyed the article, and it is consistent with Mr. Shah's reputation - as I've heard it presented - in the industry.

As for his choice of Bob Baffert as his trainer, well, any owner have his/her own preference and by the way, Bob Baffert is not a bad trainer as some people assume he is.

Fed Biz has been a stakes winner since 2012 and won his first graded stakes (San Fernando S., gr. II) in January 2013. He would go on in 2013 to win the Pat O'Brien Stakes (gr. II) in track-record time (7f, 1:21.12). So the horses has been showing talent for awhile but definitely needs space between races. He made eight starts in 2013. His start in the San Diego was his first start of the year. As for Bayern, he's a 3YO and made his first start of the year in January. Bayern also showed ability relatively early, placing third in the Arkansas Derby (gr. I). It is not as if they were $15,000 claimers a couple of months ago and suddenly started winning stakes.

Are they on the thyroid program, too? Really not impressed.
