Even more miraculous is that Strait of Dover wasn't gelded which so often happens to colts in western Canada regardless of their pedigree. It's always the same rationale. Too hard to handle. What a terrible waste that would have been. Now the Leongs have a classic-winning three year-old with a classic pedigree from one of the best families in the stud book. It's just too bad they had not realized earlier how successful the Mr. Prospector cross with Northern Dancer has been, especially his son Smart Strike with Northern Dancer-line mares. I'll be pulling for Strait of Dover for the upcoming Breeder's Stakes and other lucrative Woodbine stakes.
