I see an interesting pace scenario here. Fancy this: Birdrun and Rodman spars early to control the pace with Stay Thirsty stalking closely and the rest tracking in indian file to save ground on 'big sandy'. Stay Thirsty attempts to put away the leaders leaving the five-eights pole only to find Birdrun giving no quarters and the tempo quickening sharply. The front runners play into the hands of the out and out stayer AU Miner, finishing furiously under a vigorous ride from Calvin Borel (Flat Out gets up for second over a battling Stay Thirsty and a fast finishing Ice Box). I hope that I got it right (LOL).

I'm rooting big time for Stay Thirsty - I think he'll run well; we'll have to see if he's good enough to defeat Flat Out, etc...

It's too bad that the track will likely be sloppy tomorrow - it's pouring on LI now and the forecast isn't good for tomorrow
