Even given the global recession and resultant downturn of business in the Thoroughbred industry, pockets of progressive commerce exist, particularly in places such as New Mexico, Pennsylvania, and now Indiana, where strong state breeding programs and incentives have powered upturns in monetary metrics. Add Ottawa, Canada, to that list of locales enjoying solid equine trade due to long-term vision and planning. And people such as Bernard McCormack are both taking advantage of and helping to further build that solid foundation.
