When the improving fortunes of New York racing and breeding are considered, most of the discussion is centered on a north/south axis starting with the New York City-area racetracks Aqueduct and Belmont Park at the southern tip and moves north through the farms of the Hudson Valley and up to Saratoga Racecourse and the concentration of equine farm operations in that area.
