Udder Problems in Mares

Udder problems are not as common in mares as in cows, but a number of things can occasionally occur to create problems for the mare. Dr. Ahmed Tibary, professor of theriogenology in the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences at Washington State University, says that some of the common questions mare owners ask involve abnormalities in lactation or mastitis (inflammation of the mammary gland).
