BLOOD-HORSE PUBLICATIONS' BOARD OF TRUSTEES ELECTS DAN LIEBMAN AS A COMPANY VICE PRESIDENT

Lexington, Ky. - Dan Liebman, editor-in-chief of The Blood-Horse, was elected as a vice president of Blood-Horse Publications by the company's board of trustees at their annual spring meeting on Wednesday. Liebman, 49, joined the company in 1993 as research director and later became executive editor in 1998. Prior to joining Blood-Horse Publications, Liebman was the Midwest deputy editor for The Racing Times from 1991-1993, and was a columnist for the Kentucky bureau of Daily Racing Form from 1984-1991. Liebman became the sixth editor-in-chief in the storied history of The Blood-Horse in October 2007, following in the footsteps of Thomas Cromwell, Joe Estes, Kent Hollingsworth, Ed Bowen, and Ray Paulick.

Under Liebman's leadership, The Blood-Horse brand has seen a series of innovations and continues to enjoy the hard-earned reputation of being the premier publication in the Thoroughbred industry. His keen observation and perceptive commentary on the tough issues facing the Thoroughbred industry reflect upon his passion, commitment, dedication, and willingness to challenge the status quo. Digital publishing efforts - including original video productions and a "blog stable" - have blossomed under his management.

"Dan is an extraordinary journalist, with an intimate business understanding of Thoroughbred racing at every level, from the aspirations of the fan, to the challenges of the breeder, to the dreams of the owner," noted Mr. Stacy V. Bearse, president and CEO. "I look forward to having his advice and counsel as we tackle the exciting multi-media opportunities that lie ahead."

Liebman is a graduate of the University of Kentucky with a degree in journalism. In addition, he taught a class at the UK journalism school and is currently a member of the College of Journalism and Telecommunications advisory board. He is also a member of the Leadership Council for the American Diabetes Association, and a member of the Board of Trustees for Temple Adath Israel. He is a former officer of the National Turf Writers Association (NTWA). Liebman is a native and current resident of Frankfort, Ky. He has four children, Jennie, Joe, David, and Ben.
