TheHorse.com Passes
3,000 Fans on Facebook
Lexington,
Ky. –January 15, 2010— Social media is an important part of the way horse
owners, trainers, managers, veterinarians, and others connect today. TheHorse.com Facebook page has broken the 3,000
friend barrier, illustrating our success in trying to be where our users want
us and supplying them with the horse health, care, management, and welfare
information they want and need!
TheHorse.com Facebook page isn’t just a
“post-it-and-leave-it” spot; News Editor Erin Ryder and other staff members
spend time sorting through items from TheHorse.com
Web site and posting them to our Facebook
page to make sure our Facebook
friends are kept informed and up-to-date with important news, features, and
discussions. They also respond to queries for information when appropriate.
“While
other equine-related Web sites have a Facebook
presence, TheHorse.com is using this as
a means of reaching out to the equine community and helping horse owners stay
up-to-date with news and information,” said Kimberly S. Brown, Publisher of The
Horse brand. “We believe
in listening as well as disseminating information, and I think that is what
makes us such an integral part of the horse community.”
“Hitting
this milestone confirms something we all know; that horse owners love their
animals and connect with other like-minded people,” says Ryder, who also
presents the weekly Ryder Report video show on TheHorse.com. “TheHorse.com’s Facebook site is a great place to
do just that, with daily news updates, blog postings, videos, fact sheets, and
polls inspiring feedback and discussion on a variety of topics.”
Please
visit http://www.facebook.com/TheHorse
and join the 3,000-plus others in the horse industry who follow news and
information from TheHorse.com via Facebook. And give us feedback on
how we are doing, and what else you would like “The Horse Herd” to do to help
you stay better informed.
