Lexington, Ky. - Join Jason Shandler on BloodHorse.com blog, "Triple Crown Talk," for a "live" blog session this Saturday, March 7, from noon-1 p.m. EDT. In this engaging new chat room-style format, comments will be posted instantaneously as fans ask Shandler questions and debate the importance and potential outcomes of upcoming Kentucky Derby prep races and anything horse racing-related. March 7 is a big day of Thoroughbred racing, as the $250,000 Gotham Stakes (gr. III) from Aqueduct will help shape the New York road to the Derby. Also on tap that day are the Santa Anita Oaks (gr. I) and Santa Anita Handicap (gr. I). Racing enthusiasts are invited to weigh in and help Shandler handicap the races in this live format.
Shandler will blog live every Saturday from noon to 1 p.m. during the Triple Crown season. On some days he will be joined by notable professional handicappers as live guests to help fans analyze all of the thrilling racing action.
Shandler has been writing for The Blood-Horse since 2004, initially covering the Triple Crown quests of Smarty Jones, Afleet Alex and Barbaro from Philadelphia, where he was born and raised. In 2007 he moved to Lexington and joined The Blood-Horse full-time. Specializing as a racing writer, he covers all the Thoroughbred action on a weekly basis. An avid bettor, he does not claim to be a "professional handicapper" but has been known to hit a few big trifectas in his day and will often focus on finding long-shots or value plays.
Shandler was a correspondent and features writer for both NTRA.com and ESPN.com before joining The Blood-Horse.
