Dr. Linda Robbins grows Starfish Stallions near Hot Springs

by Evan Hammonds

Dr. Linda Robbins didn't return to Arkansas to start a new stallion operation; getting more involved on the racing side had been the plan. But the veterinarian and life-long horseperson is heading into the 2014 breeding season with three well-bred but unproven stallions.

The Ford family of Little Rock pushed Robbins in this direction in January 2012 when it asked her to manage the stud career of Ordained, their injured son of Pulpit.

“He bowed a tendon,” said John McKay, who works at Westrock Stables in Arkansas.

“Linda talked to the Fords, and she really loved the pedigree. We kept some breeding rights but pretty much let her take over his stallion career.”

Now she’s all-in with a growing stallion station named Starfish Stallions.
