Pedigree Power in Saratoga Catalog

Fasig-Tipton officials want to make the Saratoga select yearling sale the premier yearling sale in the world, and this year they've made progress toward reaching that goal based on sire power.

This year's sale will have offspring of certain prominent veteran stallions than the 2008 edition of the auction did. There are seven yearlings sired by Distorted Humor compared to three last year; 11 by Mr. Greeley compared to nine; seven by Smart Strike compared to two; seven by Storm Cat compared to three, 11 by Street Cry compared to two; and eight by Unbridled's Song compared to five.

There are three yearlings by A.P. Indy, the same number as last year, and there also is a colt by successful Southern Hemisphere sire Encosta de Lago that is a first for the auction.

I can't wait to see Bernardini's offspring hit the track.  I believe he is the heir to his father's throne.

ISNT it the idea to own a fast RACEHORSE-THAT's why you go for an UNBRIDLED SONG

I cannot wait to see the half sis to Lost in the Fog. Still miss him. Will either of these sessions be televised?  Also can't wait to see Sharp Lisa's and Hollywood Story's yearlings...those mama's were great runners on the track! Thanks for the info...

omg hip 198! I saw a photo of her as a foal in a class of whatever yr it was right here on bloodhorse. I loved the pic of her and thought wow this is going to be a great horse. I have been looking for her to show up. I saw her before i realized that stardom bound was even winning races. Now that I now that she is a half sister to Stardom Bound that makes me love her a million times more! This ones the real deal.

shesfast 07 Jul 2009 11:53 PM

i can't remember since a power packed catalogue for a yearling sale in recent memory and it wouldn't surprise me if majority of the horses sell from 500k to over a million dollars and the ones thats listed above i say should sell in the range of 800k to 2million.
