Go First Dude

Carole 02 Jun 2010 4:21 PM

stately victor wins the belmont

don b 02 Jun 2010 4:47 PM

Only way Stately Victor runs good is if Belmont installs poly before Sat

TJ 02 Jun 2010 5:00 PM

Looking at the way Ice Box was shut off in the Derby and the way he came home over coming all of that, it's clear to me that he is a "key" horse on my tickets.  Nick Zito is from New York too...

todd 02 Jun 2010 5:01 PM

Ice Box wins at a very short price. Key this horse on top in all exotics and hope the bombers follow.

Fonner Fanatic 02 Jun 2010 5:09 PM

Nick finishes 1-2 but the lesser thought of one wins Dross and First Dude fight to complete the tri--Stay Put last barely over Dutrow

marc 02 Jun 2010 5:14 PM

Fly Down wins easily. Couple him with Stay Put if you want a nice exacta. Toss Stately Victor.

Alex PB 02 Jun 2010 5:19 PM

Also toss First Dude. He has absolutely no shot.

Alex PB 02 Jun 2010 5:21 PM

First Dude will go to the front and stay there to win, he got Ramon aboard

Linda 02 Jun 2010 5:26 PM

Go Charly

Ice Box & Fly Down. Thanks for the stamina info billfromwa!

MRO 02 Jun 2010 7:51 PM

12f....Stately Victor and First Dude, followed by Ice Box and Fly Down.  I'm thinking Spangled Star is so well bred, he may surprise a lot of people.

Slew 02 Jun 2010 8:09 PM

Charly seems to me to be a horse that will appreciate this long distance

Meghan 02 Jun 2010 8:13 PM

Saratoga1 02 Jun 2010 10:40 PM

I'll take the AP Indy grand sire triple of Ice Box , First Dude and Fly Down !

Pedigree Shelly 02 Jun 2010 10:56 PM

would love to see first dude win. ice box and fly down could be tough so i dont know if he has a chance.

christy tate 02 Jun 2010 11:22 PM

Will bet against Ice Box hitting the exacta--think First Dude has them all over a barrel--Interactiv, Fly Down, Make Music For Me, Stay Put underneath in exactas--look for someone close to the pace to get 2nd, though, and I think First Dude wins by many lengths!

Matthew W 03 Jun 2010 12:46 AM

Stately Victor will trounce this field, he is the class of this crop.  Order of finish.

1.  Stately Victor

2.  Fly Down

4.  Ice Box

5.  Make Music for Me

6.  Interactif

7.  Stay Put

8.  Game On Dude

9.  Drosselmeyer

10. Uptowncharlybrown

Make Music For Me

Ice Box

Game On Dude

Interactif

The Deacon 03 Jun 2010 2:27 AM

I think this Belmont is going to be an exciting one. Alot of speedsters and some stamina. My picks in no particular order

ICE BOX

FIRST DUDE

DROSSELMEYER

STATELY VICTOR

They are all super horses for a super big race. My exacta would be Ice Box and Drosselmeyer

(In my heart though, Dublin would have won this race) Rest up Dublin for the Haskell and Breeder's Cup.

Fran Loszynski 03 Jun 2010 7:51 AM

Uptowncharlybrown :)

Saxtonhill 03 Jun 2010 9:04 AM

2. Ice Box #6

3. Game On Dude #8

4. Fly Down #5

5. Make Music for Me #4

Love those Birds 03 Jun 2010 9:51 AM

Have to say thank you Summer Bird for a wonderful Belmont last year. I hope you have a great retirement and look forward to your foals. Once again Tim Ritchey you made a good call for Summer Bird.  Afleet Alex can attest to that!

Fran Loszynski 03 Jun 2010 11:24 AM

Bet the house on First Dude, this horse is gonna be awesome! Looking for a longshot, how about Drosselmeyer & Interactif!

Goober 03 Jun 2010 12:22 PM

Stately Victor looks like a monster so I'm very curious how he runs a mile and a half. Ice Box will be overbet so I'll try to beat him. First Dude was impressive in the Preakness on the lead, but it will be tough for him to do that at this distance. So...

Stately Victor (Ghostzapper!), Make Music For Me, Ice Box

Ghostzapper 03 Jun 2010 12:59 PM

Think its going to be a nose victory by Ice Box over First Dude. Hope Uptowncharlybrown gets in there, but I don't think he will win.

Ice Box

First Dude

Uptowncharlybrown

Fly Down

These are not very exciting picks, but thats how I think it will turn out.

dbs 03 Jun 2010 4:13 PM

Superfector:

1.Fly Down- Gets johnny V and Zito has been quoted earlier in the year to his owner " you have a Belmont horse" , not just refereing to the track but the actual Belmont Stakes.

2.Ice Box- Closed well in the derby after multiple times being steadied. I had him to win in the derby but hard to bet as a favorite (need value !)

3.Drosselmeyer - 2nd over the track in the Dwyer , expect a big race

4.Stately Victor- Throw out the derby , can upset at a price !

My two cents ! Good Luck to All !

Johnny Rube 03 Jun 2010 9:48 PM

Yeah!!!  I had Drosselmeyer and First Dude in my top three

wendyg 06 Jun 2010 1:05 AM

On any given day, and it happened. Looks like Nickie was the only one on the blog who called Drosselmeyer as winning. So good for you.

First Dude ran a great race, in the Belmont AND in The Preakness. Drosselmeyer comes in on the third leg, having had a long rest, and not running in either of the first 2 legs and wins it. That is manipulating the outcome. Period. Hats off to Winstar, you planned it just right. A win is a win. But I still content the rules of any horse getting to run in the third leg without even having the qualifications to run in The Kentucky Derby is just wrong.

And this win is exactly what i wrote about on another blog and was told "I just don't get it."

Linda in Texas 06 Jun 2010 9:28 AM

Seems I did a lot better in my selections than any, although I was slightly wrong on top (2nd) and my picks for the last and second last reversed. Box my top 4 you caught nice tri.
