A lot of media has covered the Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I) this year. Therefore a lot of images and video has been created across the web about the wonderful event and here are a few morsels you should taste.
Here is a red carpet interview by Alex (Stable Boy) with the Lonely Island guys aka Andy Samberg from Saturday Night Live,
Akiva Schaffer, and Jorma Taccone. They have popular viral hits such as "I'm On a Boat" :
Sports Illustrated has Mine That Bird as their cover boy this month. He is the first horse since Smarty Jones won the Kentucky Derby in 2004. Don't forget Mine That Bird is also the cover boy with a full edition devoted to him, and his connections in this week's The Blood-Horse print. SI.com produced this fun video about the Kentucky Derby and is worth watching:
ESPN.com has a nice interview with Chip Wooley that is worth watching:
Hulu.com (owned by NBC Universal) has the complete 45min. coverage of Kentucky Derby 135 available and the race and post race footage. It was really neat to watch the race in high quality via Hulu.
I am so proud that Mine That Bird won, kind of reminds me of Seabiscuit. And oh my, I am going right after work today for my copy of Sports Illustrated, I can't wait! This will also make the Preakness more exciting, Sports Illustrated and Bloodhorse, please cover his story. Thank You!
While it is nice to see a Derby winner get SI attention, it is sad to see Rachel Alexandra's far more impressive performance ignored.
I came of age around cowboys and rodeos and those good old boys that tell it like it is. How royally refreshing to hear the diction and understand their reality again after being away from it for 50 years. Ann
a refreshing interview from a man who puts his horse first and is humble enough to know that everything just came together for this moment in time. Best of Luck to Mine that Bird and his connections. I would love to see them win the triple crown!
Adam just got a chance to watch the videos. Love the comment " We just come down from the farm and these horses run really really fast" To funny! Thank you so much for putting them up here all in one spot.
