Racing Syndicate Mastermind Takes Your Questions

The idea of racing partnerships allowed racehorse ownership by many more individuals. It was a brilliant concept in 1969 when Dogwood Stables' Cot Campbell introduced it.  More important, I believe it could be the best hope to save the sport of Thoroughbred racing over the coming generations.

Next Thursday, Feb. 12, Mr. Campbell will be the featured guest for BloodHorse.com's new Talkin' Horses format.  Instead of just reading a transcript of question-and-answer exchanges, users of the Blood-Horse site will be able to hear the featured speaker in an exclusive audiocast.  Talkin' Horses remains a free service and has been one of the best ways for racing fans to interact with prestigious members of the Thoroughbred industry.

Here is a million dollar question. Why do many individuals behave like idiots and jerks by slamming a racehorse when he does the best of his abilities?

MIKE RELVA 02 Feb 2009 12:58 PM

Cot what has happened to the Iron horse who trianed hard and put out all the effort each race? Mike- this is America and everyone has a right  to express themselves on blogs to if what someone else says  bothers you so much  ,well you need to get some prosac, to temper that mental agression after all  there are other opinions in life besides yours. See I respect your opinion and I don't consider you a jerk or idiot. chill out dude.

If you were looking just for turf runners (distance to 1,5 miles) what stallions and broodmares would you look for?

BAG 02 Feb 2009 5:19 PM

Cot, youve been around a long time, what has happened to the Horses of today who are so babied that they have to race every 2 or 3 months apart when the really great ones of the past trained so hard and set records and trainers weren't afraid to go with higher weights and more races.?Have a suspicion that its get him to stud unfortunaely the horses never get to reach their full potential and racing fans lose out.
