TrueNicks welcomes WinStar Farm, our most recent new subscriber. WinStar's commitment allows breeders to run complimentary ratings with the six stallions that make up the farm's powerful roster.
The team is headed by Distorted Humor (TrueNicks, SRO), now firmly established as one of the world's leading sires with 64 stakes winners, 26 of them graded, in his first six crops. Those stakes winners including champion and dual-classic winner Funny Cide; the brilliant Commentator; Travers Stakes (gr. I) victor Flower Alley (TrueNicks, SRO); and other grade I winners Hystericalady, Any Given Saturday (TrueNicks, SRO), Awesome Humor, Bit of Whimsy, and Rinky Dink. Distorted Humor is seconded at WinStar by his graded stakes-winning and grade I-placed son Sharp Humor (TrueNicks, SRO).
The other proven sire in the WinStar ranks is back-to-back Breeders' Cup Classic (gr. I) hero Tiznow (TrueNicks, SRO). The leading freshman sire of 2005, Tiznow is sire of champion 2-year-old filly Folklore, Belmont Stakes (gr. I) winner Da'Tara, grade I winners Tough Tiz's Sis and Colonel John, and graded winners Bear Now, Slew's Tizzy, Tiz Wonderful, Well Armed, and Tizdejavu. Champion sprinter Speightstown (TrueNicks, SRO) rounds out WinStar's roster of stallions who currently have runners, and is off to a very promising start with his first 2-year-olds this year.
The WinStar line-up is completed by Bluegrass Cat (TrueNicks, SRO) and Spring at Last (TrueNicks). Bluegrass Cat, who recently completed his second season at stud, is a son of Storm Cat out of the multiple graded stakes winning A.P. Indy (TrueNicks, SRO) mare She's a Winner. An unbeaten dual graded winner at 2, he captured the Haskell Invitational (gr. I) at 3, and ran second in the Kentucky Derby, Belmont Stakes, and Travers Stakes (all gr. I). Spring At Last, who retires to stud for 2009, is by Silver Deputy out of the Dynaformer (TrueNicks, SRO) mare Winter's Gone. A millionaire whose victories include the Donn Handicap (gr. I) and Etisalat Godolphin Mile (UAE-II), Spring At Last is half-sibling to grade I winner Sharp Lisa and graded winner Sharp Susan.
