Charlie Has Some Darlings

Written by aporter | Sep 25, 2008

With Eclipse Award winners in successive years, Indian Charlie is staking a claim to join the stallion elite. He enjoyed an excellent Saturday on September 20, with last year's champion 2-year-old filly Indian Blessing defeating her elders in the Gallant Bloom Stakes (gr. II) and My Pal Charlie winning the Super Derby (gr. II).

Indian Blessing, out of the Flying Chevron mare Shameful, is rated A++ by TrueNicks. A++ is also the rating for My Pal Charlie, who is a brother to the excellent sprinter Bwana Charlie, now a stallion at Journeyman Stud, in Ocala, Fla.

Overall, Indian Charlie has 11 stakes winners this year, others including the brilliant turf sprinter Mr. Nightlinger, and graded stakes scorer Indyanne.

All of us at Airdrie appreciate your kind comments about CHARLIE(the critter).  We are pretty excited, especially since all of these stakes winners are the result from $15,000 stud fees and less.

   Many thanks for his recognition.

   Best regards,
