TrueNicks
is proud to announce that the breeders now have access to complimentary
TrueNicks reports for the Juddmonte U.S.A. stallions. Juddmonte's Kentucky
farm is home to three exceptional grade I winners in Aptitude (TrueNicks,SRO), Empire Maker (TrueNicks,SRO), and
Mizzen Mast (TrueNicks,SRO).
Aptitude
was runner-up in both the Kentucky Derby (gr. I) and Belmont Stakes (gr. I) in
his 3-year-old season. At 4, he won a pair of grade I's including a
powerful performance in the Jockey Club Gold Cup (gr. I) where he earned the
highest Beyer Speed Figure of 2001 (123). He has already sired some
classic-types of his own in Steppenwolfer, third to Barbaro in the 2006
Kentucky Derby, and grade I-winning juvenile Great Hunter, winner of the Robert
Lewis Stakes (gr. II) during his sophomore year.
Being
a striking son of Unbridled and the incomparable Toussaud, Empire Maker was
thought to be a star from day one. He certainly didn't disappoint as a runner
with wins in the Wood Memorial (gr. I) and Belmont Stakes (gr. I). At stud he
is again living up to lofty expectations. He is the sire of six stakes winners
from his first crop, three of them graded winners, including dual grade I
winner and Eclipse finalist Country Star. He has another promising filly
already in his second crop in Empressive Lady.
Mizzen
Mast, on the other hand, was a bit of a mystery when he entered stud. But the
son of Cozzene has quietly emerged as a consistent source of high class
runners. In 2008 alone he is the sire of Hollywood Gold Cup (gr. I) winner Mast
Track and Del Mar Derby (gr. II) winner Madeo. Mizzen Mast was an extremely
versatile performer, with a group III win in France and a grade I win at seven
furlongs in California. Not surprisingly he is siring runners adept in a
variety of racing environs. He has sired stakes winners in Japan, France, Italy
and the U. S. on dirt turf and synthetic surfaces.
