Into Mischief (TrueNicks,SRO), Tiz Wonderful (TrueNicks,SRO),
and Notional (TrueNicks,SRO), the three newest stallions to stand at historic Spendthrift Farm
in Kentucky, are also among the newest stallions added to TrueNicks.
Into Mischief took last
year's grade I Hollywood Futurity on the West Coast, defeating this year's
Santa Anita Derby and Travers Stakes (both gr. I) winner Colonel John in the
process. He is a son of Harlan's Holiday, the number two second crop sire of 2008.
Tiz Wonderful didn't quite
earn grade I status in his racing career but he was a perfect 4-for-4 in
his juvenile campaign. Among those victories were impressive scores in the
Iroquois Stakes (gr. III) and the Kentucky Jockey Club (gr. II) over eventual
Haskell Invitational (gr. I) winner Any Given Saturday (TrueNicks,SRO)
. Tiz Wonderful is by one
of the nation's hottest sires in Tiznow (TrueNicks,SRO)
.
The In Excess son Notional
completes the new Spendthrift triumvirate. He posted important wins in the San
Rafael Stakes (gr. II) and Risen Star Stakes (gr. III) in the spring of his
sophomore season. This year at age 4, he accounted for the Salvator Mile
(gr. III). His sire, In Excess, is a perennial leading sire in California and
is best known as the sire of the very successful Kentucky stallion Indian Charlie (TrueNicks,SRO.
