Adena Spring's has been a
stalwart supporter of TrueNicks from the beginning. We are therefore pleased to
announce that multiple Eclipse Award-winning operation will once again
provide complimentary TrueNicks to
breeders for the 2009 breeding season.
Adena Springs is
home to 19 stallions in Kentucky and Florida. The Adena Spring's Kentucky
roster includes two of the most accomplished stallions in North America in
former leading sire El Prado (IRE) (TrueNicks,SRO)
and Awesome Again (TrueNicks,SRO)
.
El Prado is by
far the best son of Sadler's Wells to stand in North America. He has been among
the top five on the general sire list four times this decade and was North
America's champion siire in 2002. His 70 stakes winners include the grade I
winners Medaglia d'Oro (TrueNicks,SRO)
(now a promising first crop stallion), champion Kitten's
Joy, Artie Schiller, winner of the Breeders' Cup Mile (gr. I) and Borrego, who
took both the Pacific Classic (gr. I) and the Jockey Club Gold Cup (gr. I)
Breeders' Cup
Classic (gr. I) winner Awesome Again is already the sire of nine grade I
winners, including four Breeders' Cup winners and a pair of champions. His son
Ghostzapper (TrueNicks,SRO)
, winner of the fastest Breeders' Cup Classic (gr. I) in history, is
widely regarded as one of the top American runners in the past quarter century.
His daughter Ginger Punch, winner of the Breeders' Cup Distaff (gr. I) and the
Eclipse champion older mare in 2007, has come back in 2008 with two more grade
I wins and her earnings now exceed $3 million.
The
aforementioned Ghostzapper stands alongside his sire at Adena Springs Kentucky.
He has done everything right so far in his second career as well - he has been
tops in his crop in first year covering sire, weanling, and yearling averages.
Adena Spring's
Kentucky division is also home to Awesome Again's half-brother Macho Uno (TrueNicks,SRO)
, winner of the
Breeders' Cup Juvenile (gr. I) and champion 2-year-old in 2000. He began his
career at Adena Springs South before graduating to Kentucky after being the #5
first crop sire of 2007. In 2008 he is the sire of the top sophomore colts Macho
Again and Harlem Rocker.
Adena Springs
may have yet another hit on their hands with Congaree (TrueNicks,SRO)
. One of the most
consistently brilliant runners in recent years, he is among the co-leading
first crop sire with three stakes winners, including a group III winner in
Ireland.
Belmont Stakes
(gr. I) winner Touch Gold (TrueNicks,SRO)
has quietly carved out a niche as a source of high
class runners. He is the sire of four grade I winners and is having another
fine season in 2008 with seven stakes winners, including West Virginia Derby
(gr. III) winner Ready Set.
Adena Springs
Kentucky is also home to Kentucky Derby (gr. I) winner Giacomo (TrueNicks,SRO)
, who like Macho Uno (TrueNicks,SRO)
is a son of Holy Bull (TrueNicks,SRO)
, Epsom Derby (gr. I) winner North Light (IRE) (TrueNicks,SRO)
, the most
accomplished son of the incomparable Danehill to ever stand in North America,
and Silent Name (JPN) (TrueNicks,SRO)
, the most accomplished North American runner by the great
Sunday Silence to stand on these shores.
The Adena Spring lineup in Florida is potent as well.
Alphabet Soup (TrueNicks,SRO)
is the only Breeders' Cup Classic (gr. I) winner standing in the
Sunshine State. He is sire of 34 stakes winners including grade I winner and champion Our New Recruit and grade I winner Alphabet Kisses.
Milwaukee Brew (TrueNicks,SRO)
won the historic Santa Anita Handicap (gr.
I) twice in his racing days. He is now the leading second-crop sire in Florida
and no secon-crop stallion in North America has more stakes winners in 2008.
While Congaree is making some first crop noise in Kentucky,
the first-crop A.P. Indy (TrueNicks,SRO)
stallion Olmodavor (TrueNicks,SRO)
is doing good work so far for the
Florida division. He is among the top five freshmen in Florida and is already
the sire of stakes winner and track record setter Miss Dixie Dancer.
Preakness Stakes (gr. I) winner Red Bullet (TrueNicks,SRO)
is in the midst
of his finest season to date. He is the sire of a pair of Breeders' Cup
contenders: Phil the Power, who is pointing towards the inaugural Marathon, and
Fatal Bullet, who may be the ‘wise guy' pick in the Sprint after three
successive stakes triumphs, two in track record time.
The Adena Springs South roster is rounded out by Awesome
Again's Breeder's Cup Juvenile (gr. I) winner Wilko (TrueNicks,SRO)
, Indy King (TrueNicks,SRO)
, a son of A. P.
Indy out of champion Queena, Greatness (TrueNicks,SRO)
, a fast son of Mr. Prospector,
Aristocrat (TrueNicks,SRO)
, a winning full-brother to Ghostzapper, Sligo Bay (IRE) (TrueNicks,SRO)
, a grade I-winning
son of Sadler's Wells from the immediate female line of Saint Ballado, stalwarts Rahy (TrueNicks,SRO)
and Singspiel, and their newest stallion, multiple grade I winner Showing Up (TrueNicks,SRO).
