TrueNicks
is pleased welcome the Shadwell Farm stallions into the TrueNicks program. The
Shadwell roster features nine stallions at their Versailles, Ky., property,
including four exciting young prospects.
[Invasor] was an unbeaten Horse of the Year in South America and he earned that same
distinction in North America by reeling off successive victories in the Pimlico
Special, Suburban Handicap, Whitney Handicap, and Breeders Cup
Classic (all gr. I), the last over Bernardini (TrueNicks,SRO)
. His only career loss came in the 2006 UAE Derby
(UAE-II), which he avenged a year later with a facile romp in the Dubai World
Cup (UAE-I). His first foals will begin arriving after the first of the year.
The
first foals of two more Shadwell-raced grade I winners will also hit the
ground shortly. [Jazil] won the 2006 Belmont Stakes (gr. I) over Bluegrass Cat (TrueNicks,SRO)
. It's
fair to say that this son of Seeking the Gold hails from the hottest family in
the stud book. His little half-sister Rags to Riches won the 2007 Belmont, and his similarly-bred half-brother Casino Drive might have made it three in a row for their
dam Better Than Honour, if not for a stall injury the morning of the race this
past June.
[Daaher]
came into his own in the fall of his sophomore season, crushing seasoned
allowance foes at Saratoga by over 13 lengths and then making short order of
the grade II Jerome Handicap at a mile. He then made it look all too easy in the
Cigar Mile (gr. I), disposing of Breeders' Cup Sprint (gr. I) winner and Eclipse champion Midnight Lute (TrueNicks,SRO). He earned a sparkling 114 Beyer speed figure for the
effort.
[Mustanfar]
is another intriguing prospect, especially in this era of three-surface racing
in North America. The son of Unbridled won a pair of graded events as a 3-year-old and earned black type on turf, dirt, and synthetic surfaces. He is
out of the Lyphard mare Manwah, a daughter of champion Height of Fashion,
herself the dam of three champions.
Shadwell
is also home to the veteran stallions [Dayjur], [Dumaani], [Intidab], [Kayrawan], and
[Swain].
