TrueNicks is pleased to
welcome Fox Tale Stud's newest stallion, Capitano (TrueNicks,SRO).
The son of Belong to Me (TrueNicks,SRO)
was multiple graded-placed at 2 in some of Southern California's top juvenile races like the Norfolk Stakes
(gr. II). He proved his versatility later in his career with multiple stakes
wins on the grass, and retires with over $575,000 in career earnings. Capitano
is out of a daughter of dual classic winner Tabasco Cat and is a half-brother
to a pair of stakes winners.
Fox Tale, a stallion station in Pennsylvania, has also recommitted their veteran stallions Smart Guy (TrueNicks,SRO)
and Request for Parole (TrueNicks,SRO)
to TrueNicks for 2009.
Smart Guy was a
four-time stakes winner in his racing days. His signature win came in the
Pennsylvania Derby (gr. III), a race that has also produced the good sires Dixieland Band (TrueNicks,SRO)
, Summer Squall, Broad Brush, Afleet, and -- more recently -- Macho Uno (TrueNicks,SRO)
and
Harlan's Holiday (TrueNicks,SRO). Smart Guy is a son of Smarten out of the graded stakes-placed
Talc mare Royal Tali.
Breeders looking for top-class durability should look no
further than the grade I winner Request for Parole (TrueNicks,SRO)
. He made 51 trips to the
post and won or placed in 12 stakes. At 2, he won the Ellis Park Juvenile and
placed in three other black type events to the very good runners Repent (TrueNicks,SRO)
and
Harlan's Holiday. At 3, he added two more stakes victories and, still going
strong at age 5, he collected the grade I United Nations Handicap. Request
for Parole has also earned the distinction of being the first
Pennsylvania-based stallion to shuttle to South America. His first Northern
Hemisphere foals will arrive in 2009.
