Sparks View Farm will welcome the exquisitely-bred Storm Cat
son Heart of the Storm (TrueNicks,SRO) to its Central Kentucky property for the 2009 breeding
season. He'll be one of nearly 350 stallions enrolled in the TrueNicks program.
Heart of the Storm is out of the Bold Hour mare Amelia
Bearheart, the dam of five stakes runners, including a pair of grade I winners.
Her son Explosive Red won four stakes at 2 and 3 including the 1993
Hollywood Derby (gr. I). Her Chief Bearheart was even more accomplished, taking
the Breeders' Stakes (a Canadian Triple Crown event) at 3 and the Breeders'
Cup Turf (gr. I) and Canadian Interntional (gr. I) at 4. Those victories
secured an Eclipse Award as America's top grass runner.
Heart of the Storm is
her only son of Storm Cat.
