Two New Stallions at Hill 'n' Dale

Complimentary sire line nick reports are now available for Hill ‘n' Dale Farms' two newest stallions, champion Midnight Lute and South American sire sensation Indygo Shiner.

Even though he is the son of a Kentucky Derby (gr. I) winner, Midnight Lute (TrueNicks,SRO) proved to be one of the fastest sprinters of recent times. He earned a 124 Beyer Speed Figure in the 2007 Forego H. (gr. I), the highest published Beyer by a sprinter ever. He followed that effort with the first of his two Breeders' Cup Sprint (gr. I) victories and was named champion sprinter last January. In November, Midnight Lute became the first two-time winner of the Sprint and his time of 1:07 is the fastest in the 25-year history of the race.

Indygo Shiner (TrueNicks,SRO) began his second career in Argentina where he is the leading sire this year despite having just two crops to race. He is the sire of four group I winners this year, three of them classic winners, including the winners of both the Argentine Derby and the Argentine Oaks (both Arg-I). He is the only sire of the modern era to sire the winners of both fixtures in the same year. His pedigree is certainly familiar to North American breeders. He is a son of sire-of-sires A.P. Indy (TrueNicks,SRO) out of a graded stakes-winning full sister to the great Broodmare of the Year Toussaud. She, of course, is the dam of the leading sires Chester House and Empire Maker (TrueNicks,SRO) among her four grade I winners.

Midnight Lute and Indygo Shiner join the other Hill ‘n' Dale stallions in Truenicks: Candy Ride (ARG) (TrueNicks,SRO) , Closing Argument (TrueNicks,SRO) , El Corredor (TrueNicks,SRO) , Grand Reward (TrueNicks,SRO) , Harlington (TrueNicks,SRO), Heatseeker (TrueNicks,SRO) , Mr. Sekiguchi (TrueNicks,SRO) , Mutakddim (TrueNicks,SRO) , Roman Ruler (TrueNicks,SRO) , Seeking the Best (IRE) (TrueNicks,SRO) , Seeking the Dia (TrueNicks,SRO) , Shakespeare (TrueNicks,SRO) , Stormy Atlantic (TrueNicks,SRO) , and Theatrical (IRE) (TrueNicks,SRO) .
