Blushing Groom and Service Stripe Double-Team

There was some activity of note among the younger stallions over the past weekend. Second-crop sire Even the Score (TrueNicks,SRO) , who had Secretariat Stakes (gr. IT) winner Take the Points a week earlier, was represented by Four Gifts (a graded winner earlier this year), who took the $250,000 Charles Town Oaks. She is out of a mare by Service Stripe (by Deputy Minister), and inbred 4 x 4 to Blushing Groom (FR).

Freshman Pollard's Vision (TrueNicks,SRO) was in the news a few weeks ago when represented by Vertical Vision who captured the Prairie Gold Lassie Stakes. (Here's another pedigree with a Blushing Groom double and out of a Service Stripe mare -- maybe we have a useful inexpensive broodmare sire in the making....) He added a second stakes winner at the weekend when Air Crew, previously second in the Premio Giuseppe de Montel and third in the Premio Primi Passi (Ity-III), took the Criterium Labronico. He is out of a mare by Holy Bull (TrueNicks,SRO) and is rated A.  Incidentally, Pollard's Vision now has nine stakes winners and sits in seventh on the leading freshman table.

I find the recent events and your observations encouraging. Some six years ago, I was lucky enough to anticipate the synergy of the largely ignored Service Stripe with my Rubiano mare(that you later reviewed)who produced a G1 runner-up and a prominent member of the EFH. Now perhaps there will be another lucky anticipation as that same mare is in foal to Cherokee Run with an individual that is 3x4 Blushing Groom.
