Airdrie Stallions Rejoins TrueNicks for 2010

Written by moneil | Sep 23, 2009

Complimentary TrueNicks ratings for the stallions standing at Brereton Jone’s Airdrie Stud in Kentucky will once again be available to breeders for the 2010 breeding season.

Indian Charlie (TrueNicks,SRO) is one of the many recent successes for Airdrie. The son of In Excess is the sire of 43 stakes winners and 80 total stakes horses, including the likes of Eclipse Award champions Indian Blessing and Fleet Indian.

Harlan's Holiday (TrueNicks,SRO) has ranked among the best of his sire class since his runners first hit the races in 2007. Nearly half of his stakes winners have won at the graded level so far, including the two-year-old filly Necessary Evil, who beat the boys in this year’s Hollywood Juvenile Championship (gr. III).

Proud Citizen (TrueNicks,SRO) is another top ten third crop sire on the Airdrie roster. The dual classic-placed son of Gone West counts last year’s Champion Three-Year-Old filly Proud Spell and the group III winner River Proud among the 22 stakes horses in his first two crops.

The Storm Cat son Yankee Gentleman (TrueNicks,SRO) is not far behind Harlan’s Holiday and Proud Citizen among third crop sires. He is the sire of 16 stakes horses so far, including the 2009 stakes winners Southern Yankee, Gallant Gent and Hello Again.

The Broad Brush stallion Include (TrueNicks,SRO) was the #6 first crop sire of 2006 and has proved to be a worthy heir to his sire with a pair grade I winners so far.

The Airdrie roster is rounded out by the Florida Derby (gr. I) winner Friends Lake (TrueNicks,SRO), who ranks among the better second crop sires in 2009; Canadian Frontier (TrueNicks,SRO), a second crop son of Gone West and sire of the ’09 stakes winner On the Menu; Champion Two-Year-Old Colt Stevie Wonderboy (TrueNicks,SRO); Santa Anita Derby (gr. I) winner Brother Derek (TrueNicks,SRO); Met Mile (gr. I) winner Divine Park (TrueNicks,SRO) the grade I-winning Holy Bull son Flashy Bull (TrueNicks,SRO); the very fast Silver Deputy son Badge of Silver (TrueNicks,SRO; the ultra quick Gone West stallion Istan (TrueNicks,SRO); veteran Slew City Slew (TrueNicks,SRO), the sire of Lava Man among many others; and newcomer The Daddy (TrueNicks,SRO) whose first yearling sshowed enough promise to merit an early move from Florida to Kentucky.
