Highcliff Farm in New York Joins TrueNicks

The typically strong Highcliff roster has been bolstered even further by the additions of Congaree (TrueNicks,SRO) and Cosmonaut (TrueNicks,SRO).

Multiple grade I winner Congaree moves to Highcliff from Adena Springs in Kentucky. He now ranks as the leading second crop sire in New York after ranking among the top ten first crop sires nationally last year. His first crop has already yielded 10% stakes horses, including Lone Star Derby (gr. III) winner Mythical Power and Maoineach, a multiple group III winner in Europe.

Multiple graded winner Cosmonaut retires directly to Highcliff as the leading earner of the top sire Lemon Drop Kid. On the board in over half his starts, Cosmonaut racked up nearly $1.4 million in earnings. He won graded races in Illinois, New York and California and fell just a neck shy in the grade I Shadwell Turf Mile at Keeneland.

The early sons of Giant's Causeway are going great guns in Europe this year which bodes well for the unbeaten Stonesider (TrueNicks,SRO). It also bodes well that his first weanling sold for nearly five times the stud fee last month. Stonsider defeated eventual grade I winner Flashy Bull when breaking his maiden in New York. He is out of the Gilded Time mare Added Gold, winner of the Black-Eyed Susan S. (gr. II).

Western Expression (TrueNicks,SRO) ranks as the #6 sire in New York in 2009. The Gone West stallion is the sire of multiple graded winner I Lost My Choo, who has won graded races in each of the past two seasons. She took the Virginia Oaks (gr. III) in 2008 and the Honey Fox S. (gr. III) this year and has bankrolled $442,740.
