Dana Point Joins TrueNicks

Millionaire Sir Shackleton (TrueNicks,SRO) was one of the better middle distance runners during the middle portion of this decade. He chalked up wins in the West Virginia Derby (gr. III) and the Derby Trial (gr. III) at 3. At 4, he set a track record when winning the Richter Scale Breeders' Cup Sprint Championship H. (gr. II) and placed in three grade I events, including the Met Mile H. (gr. I) to Ghostzapper. He's a by the good Mr. Prospector stallion Miswaki, out of a mare by Star de Naskra. His first crop hits the races next year.

Wiseman's Ferry (TrueNicks,SRO) also won the West Virginia Derby along with the Lone Star Derby (gr. III) as a three-year-old. He was group stakes placed at 2, running second to multiple champion Johannesburg in the Anglesey S. (gr. III). The son of Hennessy, hails from the same immediate female family as Sky Mesa and Bernstein and he's had success of his own at stud with stakes runners like For Drum, a stakes winner in New York.

Southern Success (TrueNicks,SRO), a stakes winner at 2, joins the Dana Point roster after beginning his career at Xanthus Farm. He's by one of Northern Dancer's best sons, Dixieland Band, out of the A. P. Indy mare My Success, a sister to multiple grade I winner Affirmed Success. Southern Success is, in fact, bred on the same Dixieland Band/Seattle Slew cross as the very good sire Dixie Union.
