Double Bubbles

Repent (TrueNicks,SRO) , who was just announced as moving from Vinery, Kentucky to Empire Stud in New York had a pair of stakes winners last weekend. His two-year-old filly, Beijin (TrueNicks A++) won the Donna Freyer S. at Philadelphia Park. She is out of a Forest Wildcat mare, but the pedigree is also interesting for having four crosses of Bold Ruler, combined with a less commonly seen horse called Funny Fellow. He is interesting here, as he is by a son of Bold Ruler's sire, Nasrullah, out of a daughter of Bold Ruler's dam, Miss Disco. Repent's other weekend stakes winner was the three-year-old filly, Sweet Repent, who annexed the Elmer Heubeck H. at Calder. She's rated A++ by TrueNicks, and also has an interesting pedigree, as she's inbred 4 x 4 to Bold Princess (by Bold Ruler out of Grey Flight) and also has Bold Princess's three-parts-brother, Bold Lad in the fifth generation of the pedigree. Repent has nine stakes winners in his first three crops, including graded winner Crown of Thorns, who went very close to taking this year's Breeders' Cup Sprint (gr. I).

Medaglia d'Oro (TrueNicks,SRO) had an international weekend double with two-year-olds from his second crop (both colts). After Passion for Gold looked so impressive in the Criterium de Saint-Cloud (gr. I) on Saturday, Self Dealin' Man (TrueNicks A+), took the Christopher Elser S. at Philadelphia Park the following day. Passion for Gold is out of a mare by Thunder Gulch (TrueNicks,SRO) , and Self Dealin' Man out of a mare by Goldlust (by Mr. Prospector) so they are the fifth and sixth stakes winners for their sire out of Mr. Prospector line mares.

Giant's Causeway (TrueNicks,SRO) 's brother, Freud, is a dominant force in the New York stakes program, and he also had a double in black-type company through the fast filly, Franny Freud, who took the New York Stallion Fifth Avenue S., and Uncle T Seven, a three-year-old colt who took the New York Stallion Thunder Rumble S. Both are TrueNick rated A++, with Fanny Freud having a particularly interesting pedigree, as she is out of a mare by D'Accord, a reverse Secretariat/Northern Dancer cross to Storm Cat. Uncle T Seven is out of a mare by Lord At War.
