Applebite Farms in French Camp, Calif., will host E Z Warrior (TrueNicks,SRO) for his inaugural 2010 season. A source connected to the Zayat Stables-owned stallion confirmed that E Z Warrior is due to arrive on the West Coast this week, having shipped from Kentucky.
The dark bay Storm Cat-line 5-year-old stud sold for $1.2 million to Zayat Stables at the 2006 Barretts March Sale and went on to make good on the track. He won the grade III Hollywood Juvenile Championship later that year and at 3 took the San Miguel Stakes and ran third in the grade I King’s Bishop to Hard Spun and First Defence. The King’s Bishop has been a tremendous proving ground for future stallions in recent years. More Than Ready, Tale of the Cat, Distorted Humor, Elusive Quality as well as three leading first-crop stallions have all won or placed in the King’s Bishop.
E Z Warrior is by the multiple graded stakes-winning Storm Cat son Exploit out of a mare by Carson City and is a half-brother to the stakes-winning J Z Warrior.
