Freud (TrueNicks,SRO) has been New York’s leading sire of stakes winners in each of the past two seasons and was the Leading General Sire in the Empire State in 2008 with over $3.2 million in progeny earnings. His 2009 earnings of $3,482,482 put him behind only Kentucky ex-patriate Posse. Freud is a graded stakes placed full brother to Giant’s Causeway, North America’s Leading Sire in the year just passed.
Read the Footnotes (TrueNicks,SRO) was the leading first crop sire in New York in 2008. The son of Smoke Glacken was represented by seven stakes horses last year including the multiple stakes winners Rightly So and Make Note. Read the Footnotes was a graded winner at 2 and 3 in his first career.
Hook and Ladder (TrueNicks,SRO) is yet another Sequel stallion who has earned the ‘Leading Sire’ moniker as he was the top freshman sire in New York in 2007. He again ranked #1 in 2008 as New York’s leading second crop sire. By Dixieland Band out of a Cox’s Ridge mare, Hook and Ladder’s good runners include Tampa Bay Derby (gr. III) winner Big Truck, and the stakes winners Spanky Fischbein and Under Serviced.
The speedy Noonmark (TrueNicks,SRO) is the newest Sequel stallion and he appears to have all the tools to the sit atop some sire lists in the years to come. He was a good looking winner at 2 and showed graded form at 3. He went on to win the grade III Mr. Prospector H. and place in five other blacktype sprints at 5. He’s by Unbridled’s Song out of the Storm Cat mare In the Storm, a sister to a pair of stakes winners, including multiple grade I winning millionaire Formal Gold.
