King of the Roxy (TrueNicks,SRO) was one of the better juveniles in New York during the 2006 season, winning the Futurity Stakes (gr. II) at Belmont after running a good second in Saratoga Special Stakes (gr. II). He enjoyed another strong season at three, romping in the Hutcheson Stakes (gr. II) before giving Tiago all he could handle in the Santa Anita Derby (gr. I), where he fell a half length short. He retires with over $600,000 in the bank and earned Beyer Speed Figures as high as 109.
King of the Roxy is a son of the Valid Appeal stallion Littlexpectations, a multiple stakes winning full brother to 2001 leading first crop sire Valid Expectations. His dam is the winning Bold Forbes mare Marrakesh.
